Members of the Bird High forensics team earned recognition during VHSL state competition. Kylie S. won first place in original oratory with his speech “Man Enough” and qualified to compete in the national tournament. In VHSL poetry interpretation, Tatyana H. won first and Henry P. won second. With only three members, Bird High finished third in overall team competition. English teacher Melissa Ligh coaches the Bird High forensics team, which competes in VHSL class 5.
